Going on a treasure hunt with Nanogirl!

Kia ora my name is Jessie. I found doing this supplies treasure hunt really exciting. It mean't I got to look for all sorts of things I didn't really know we had in our home. So I was quite suprised to come across these supplies. I was thinking maybe I would need to buy some of the supplies. Im excited for this summer learning journey and can't wait to share my experiment with you all. I found it tricky to get started and being on the right path to this invention. Thank you all

My name is Renee and I’m from the Summer Learning Journey Team. Ka pai on your blogpost, you have done a great job at using Screencastify to record yourself - you are a fantastic public speaker. It is really cool that you managed to find so many things that you can use in your future Nanogirl experiments - especially when you didn’t realise that they would be in your house! Which item that you found was the most surprising to you?

I am so happy to see that you have signed up to participate in the Summer Learning Journey! 1. Hi Renee thank you so much for your kind words. I would have to say the hardest supply to find was the cardboard.

  2. Kia ora Jessie, We are excited for the Summer Learning Journey too. So glad you had fun with this first activity and you were able to find so many of the items around your home.

Your recording is very clear. Having the curtain closed behind you is a good idea when you are using your webcam. The light is just right.

    Ngā mihi nui,

  5. Hi Jessie,
I am a student from Panmure Bridge School and I found your blurb along with your DLOs really interesting. This blog post was really helpful as it gave me an idea of what I need for the following experiments. If you were to find an alternative for card what would you use? Other than that your blurb was really well written and it is easier for the reader to understand.

    Great Job!

My name is Sulia and I attend Pammure Bridge School. Great job for finishing of the first activty for the Summer Learning Journey. Wow! I really like the way you presented your self very confidently in your video. I like that your video was very clear and understanding. I have also completed this at school, but it wasn't as easy as doing at home, because I couldn't find the equiptment. Maybe next time try put the videos together and try to get better lighting so I that I can see you clearly.

What did you find hard about this challenge ?

    Keep up the Good Work!

  11. Hi Jessie, your treasure hunt was great, and you found all the things you need which was awesome. Panmure Bridge school is still open so it was easy finding all the items and tools for the experiment. I've also done this activity but we are missing some items. What do you think the items are going to make for the experiment?

My name is Fau and I am attending Panmure Bridge School. As we just started doing the Summer Learning Journey your work has been given as an example. While watching the 2 videos I thought you spoke very well and had a lot of good information. My school isn't finished yet so my classroom and another classroom worked together to create an activity like this.

Was there an object that you found quite hard to find? Yes or No and why.

Keep up the great work during the Summer Learning Journey!

When I think about the outcome of the experiment, we might make a scale in which we use the string to balance the different weights. But we might also make a catapult with the help of a spatula. What do you think the outcome will look like?

Great Job! Keep up the great work!
